PURE Youth, a leadership program, specifically aims to facilitate discussion and awareness of the impact that education has on society through numerous projects and fundraising. PURE Youth also supports projects from all program areas and causes PURE champions which gives the ambassadors an opportunity to understand the depth and breadth of the issue, solution and impact on the lives they are helping change.
The Clarksburg MD branch was founded in September 2018, by director Megha Jasti along with co director Kavi Daliparti. They started the chapter after seeing the poor conditions of schools in India and wanted to help the children learn better. In the past two years, they raised over $2500 for various causes. In May 2019, the team focused on helping a school run by PURE, to lift street children and their families out of poverty. In September 2019, they focused on getting a water filter, books, benches, and various basic school essentials for a run-down school in Nirmal, India. During that project, they learned about a cause called the Little Free Pantry, which helps low-income families recover and involves the community in the process. Currently, they are going to start fundraising to start their own Little Free Pantry in an at-risk community. They have constantly partnered with the Clarksburg Church, by working with them at the Clarksburg 5K, and at other small events around the community.
Led By Children, For Children
I joined PURE because I saw it as an incredible opportunity to help those in need. Getting SSL hours was not my priority when joining PURE. Helping others and improving lives is why I am part of this chapter. ~Kavi
I joined PURE because I wanted to help people who are not as fortunate as I am. Everyone deserves the chance to have an education, no matter where they are from. I wanted to give back and help make the world a better place. ~Raaga
The first time I heard about PURE youth organization was through my neighbor Raaga. She briefed us about the initiatives that the organization takes and how it helped the noble cause of educating kids. Living miles away from home, donating to the fundraiser makes us feel a part of the society and gives us a complete sense of giving back. I wish them success with all their initiatives and will be more than happy to support again. ~Ashwini
It was interesting to find out about the Pure Youth organization and its goal, through their Dinner to Door fundraiser. I was impressed that youth were taking the time to think about and take active steps to help other children across the globe – I took a moment to perceive how it would be should one of those kids benefitted become a classmate of the benefactor, wow how beautiful would that be! Youth helping youth – we need more if that. Thank you for the very yummy dinner, and supporting such a great cause! ~Gnana
